Come & See 2026

For Churches

Discern, endorse, send, and continue together.

MCE-Iberoamérica

Discern, endorse, send, and continue together.

Churches are not merely referral sources. They recognize vocation, accompany discernment, provide endorsement, pray, commission, receive the returning participant, and help identify the next faithful step.

  • Recommend a participant
  • Provide church endorsement
  • Pray and commission
  • Receive the testimony
  • Explore continuing partnership
01

Before

Recommend and discern.

A church may recommend someone, participate in early conversations, provide formal endorsement, establish prayer support, and help the participant prepare to enter as a learner.

02

During

Pray and remain connected.

Churches can sustain participants through prayer and appropriate communication while respecting the privacy of application, journal, mentor, safeguarding, and staff records.

03

After · first two weeks

Receive, listen, and debrief.

Within two weeks, gather the participant, pastor, mission leadership, and mentor when possible. Pray, hear personal reflections, name lessons for the congregation, and schedule a testimony without rushing the participant into certainty.

  • What did God teach you?
  • What surprised or challenged your assumptions?
  • What can strengthen our church?
  • What next conversation should we schedule?
04

After · first month

Help the whole church learn.

A testimony is an act of discipleship, not a travel presentation. Organize it around five movements: before I went, what I encountered, what God taught me, what our church can learn, and an invitation to pray, learn, discern, or participate.

  • Center Christ, local churches, hope, honesty, and invitation
  • Avoid tourism, cultural stereotypes, political commentary, and self-congratulation
  • Invite congregational questions and reflection
  • Use only stories and media approved for the intended channel
05

After · six weeks

Turn learning into one church action plan.

Name what the church learned, what God may be inviting it to do, three immediate actions, responsible leaders, and a review date. Within three months, host a mobilization gathering for others who want to learn more.

06

Continue

Build a continuing rhythm.

Maintain prayer relationships with field hosts, celebrate Come & See annually, recognize mentors, commission future participants, and consider Mission Sunday, leadership formation, professional-development experiences, donor partnership, or longer-term church partnership.
